Here we have some simple mini-sketches for children to try out acting simple emotions. They can be acted out in small groups. I usually demonstarte the sketch, showing the basic emotion (being scared, or happy or lost - lookinhg around, etc). and then let the children try it out in groups. Soem groups may wish to perform for the whole class at the end. At the end of all the sketches there is a complete play script baswd on the sketches.
Happy The characters decide to go for a picnic in the forest.
Characters: Wendy Jane Diana Sarah
(Enter Wendy and Jane)
Wendy: Ah, what a beautiful day.
Jane: A very beautiful day.
Wendy: The sun is shinning.
Jane: The birds are singing.
(Enter Diana and Sarah)
Diana,Sarah: Hello.
Wendy: Hello Diana.
Jane: Hello Sarah.
Diana,Sarah: How are you today?
Wendy,Jane: Fine, thank you. And you?
Wendy: I’m hungry.
Diana: Are you hungry?
Sara: Yes, I am.
Jane: Let’s go for a picnic in the forest.
Wendy,Diana,Sarah: Fantastic, let’s go.
(They all exit)
Evil Alien vampires are coming to Earth, looking for fresh blood
Charracters: Zaramon Krion Zorka Torron
Zaramon: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Zaramon.
Krion: My name is Krion.
Zorka: My name is Zorka.
Torron: My name is Torron.
Vampires: We are ......... vampires. we are the vampires of Planet X.
Krion,Zorka: We are bad.
Zaramon,Torron: Very bad.
Krion,Zorka: We are hungry.
Zaramon,Torron: Very hungry.
Krion,Zorka: We want......................Blood!
Zaramon: Look, the planet Earth. Let’s go to the planet Earth.
Krion,zorka,Torron: Yes, let’s go to the planet Earth.
Zaramon: Prepare to land.
(sound of spaceship landing as lights go off)
Lost The characters are lost in the forest and are looking around.
Characters: Wendy Jane Diana Sarah
(Enter everone, slowly, looking around)
Wendy: Where are we?
Jane: Yes, where are we?
Diana: I don’t know.
Sarah: Can you see the path?
Diana: No, I can’t.
Wendy: Can you see the path?
Jane: No, I can’t.
Surprised The characters are lost and come across a spaceship.
Characters: Wendy Jane Diana Sarah
(Enter everone, slowly, looking around)
Wendy: Where are we?
Jane: Yes, where are we?
Diana: I don’t know.
Sarah: Can you see the path?
Wendy: No, I can’t.
(They come across a spaceship and are all very surprised)
Everyone: Huh!!!!!
Jane: What is it? (Pointing to a spaceship on or off stage)
Wendy,Diana: It’s ... It’s ... it’s a spaceship.
Jane,Sarah: Wow!!!!
Diana: Look! The door is opening!
(Sound of door opening)
Wendy,Jane,Sarah: Huh!!!!
Sarah: Quick, hide!
(They hide in the corner of the stage)
Afraid The alien vampires find the children
Characters: Wendy Jane Zaramon Krion
(The alien vampires slowly exit the spaceship)
Krion: Where are we?
Zaramon: This is the planet Earth.
Zaramon: (Sniffing)
Krion: What is it?
Zaramon: I can smell something ........ I can smell ............ humans!
Wendy: Atchooo! (Sneezing)
Krion: What’s that?
Zaramon: I don’t know.
Wendy: Atchoo!
Zaramon: What’s that
Krion: I don’t know..
Wendy: A .....a....a....a ....chooooooo!
Zaramon: Humans!!!!
Children: Aaaaaahhhh!
Krion: Hands up!
Zaramon: Who are you?
Children: w...w...w....we..are ...ch...ch...ch...children.
Krion: Children?
Children: Y...y....y....y...yes.
Zaramon: I like children. like children .......for dinner!
Children: Aaaaaahhhh!
Wendy: Call the police, call the police.
Jane: Police, police, help, help.
Brave The super police arrive to save the children
Characters: Inspector Policewoman 1 Policewoman 2 Zaramon
(Sound of police siren)
(Enter police)
Inspector, Policewoman 1,2. Don’t panic, don’t panic, we are ......the police!
Inspector: We are fast.
Policewoman 1. We are strong.
Policewoman 2. We are brave.
Inspector, Policewoman 1,2: We are ....the super police!
Inspector: What is the problem?
(Policewomen 1 and 2 suddenly see Zaramon and try to tell policewoman 1, but the inspector continues looking the other way)
Policewoman 1,2. Inspector!
Inspector: What is the problem?
Policewoman 1,2. Inspector!
Inspector: What is it?
Policewoman 1,2. It’s ...it’s ...it’s (Pointing at Zaramon)
(The inspector turns around and sees Zaramon)
Inspector, Policewoman 1,2: It’s an alien!!
Zaramon: Yes, I am an alien and you are .....my dinner!
Inspector: Stop!
Policewoman 1,2. Hands up!
Zaramon: Ha, ha, ha! You cannot stop me!
Policewoman 1,2: Oh yes, we can!
(They shoot Zaramon)
Zaramon: Aaaahhhh!
(Zaramon dies)
